Layflat Tubing Heat Sealers

Our range of impulse heat sealers are designed for use with polythene layflat tubing, allowing you to create custom-sized bags quickly and efficiently. Each machine includes an integral cutter for trimming excess film, making them ideal for clean, professional sealing in packing and dispatch environments.

An impulse sealer uses a heated bar that activates when sealing, then cools. They are generally energy efficient, safe and reliable for everyday use.

S-Type sealers produce a wider 5mm seal and have separate controls for sealing and cooling times, making them better for thicker film and continuous use. C-Type sealers create a 2.5mm seal with simpler controls, ideal for standard tubing and bag sealing.

Pick a sealer slightly wider than the tubing you’re using. For example, if your layflat tubing is 600mm wide, you’ll need at least a 620mm sealer to achieve a clean seal across the full width.

Yes. They work with both layflat tubing and pre-made polythene bags, provided the bag or tubing width fits within the sealing bar.

Seal time depends on the film thickness. Thinner film needs a shorter cycle, while thicker gauges require more heat and a longer cool down. Machines have adjustable timers so you can match the settings to the material.

Replace consumables such as sealing wires, Teflon covers and cutter blades as they wear out. Keeping the sealing bar clean helps maintain consistent, reliable seals.

About Impulse Heat Sealers

Impulse heat sealers use a heated wire that activates during the sealing cycle. The bar melts the edges of the tubing together and then cools to set the join, producing a strong, reliable seal. With the integral cutter, you can seal and trim in one step, which saves time and gives a cleaner finish compared to scissors or tape.

Two main types are available. S-Type sealers are heavier duty, producing a 5mm wide seal with separate controls for sealing and cooling times. They are available in larger widths and are suited to thicker tubing or higher volume use. C-Type sealers produce a narrower 2.5mm seal with a simpler control system. They are compact and reliable for standard bag and tubing sealing where a thinner seal is sufficient.

Smaller bench-top sealers are ideal for light or occasional use, while wider-bar and S-Type machines are designed for continuous operation in busy packing areas. Spare consumables such as wires, blades and Teflon strips are available, and optional extras like stands or foot pedals can be added to suit your setup.
